Winter Books and Bake sale!!

Hi Everyone!! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Now its time to prepare for the Winter Book & Bake sale. Its on Saturday, December 1st, 2007 at the West Boxford Library from 10 am to 3 pm. Thanks to all the volunteers. For everyone else hope you can drop by and grab some cookies or books. All proceeds goes toward Young Adult and Children's collection at the Boxford Libraries.

Harry Potter Spoilers Beware!

I personally can't wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to come out, but what makes me so depressed is that some people sink so low as to spoil the book for the rest of us. CNN.com has a whole article on how people are photographing "copies of the book" and posting them on the internet. I personally think that this is so unfair and that people are being jerks by doing this. Plus, I've read a few of these so called "obituarys" and none of them say the same thing! So basically they are all LYING. So if you do read any of these, which I recommend if you want to get a good laugh, just remember, THEY AREN'T TRUE!

TAB meeting that wasn't

Thanks for letting me know that you could not attend the meeting. We actually did not have one because no one showed up. lol So we are skipping July and try to set one up on August. I'll let you know when I have a date. Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Hope you are all having a great summer.... ^__^

A response to the Harry Potter post

Harry Potter update...

I personally had lost interest in Harry Potter a long time ago. I have not finished the 5th book and have not even started the 6th one. I think they are really good books, I just don't have the time or patience to sit down and read the whole thing. And then if I don't read it all at once I forget about it and read lots of other books instead. Since this is the LAST one, I might try to read it. When I first started the first book, I hated it because of the way the aunt and uncle treated Harry, and I didn't feel the need to read any further. But then I picked it up again later and read it all and it was actually pretty good. Personally I think the question of will teens still read is really...odd. I'm always looking for new books to come out and I'm not killing myself waiting for the next Harry Potter. I definitely think teens will still read and I don't think Harry Potter would be the cause if they didn't. I guess my response is kind of biased because I'm not that big a fan of Harry Potter anymore. Anyways, thanks for posting the interesting article about it. ☺

Life after Harry Potter?

What do you think? Now that the last HP novel is coming out, will teens stop reading??? I doubt it, but why don't you take a look at this article from the Today Show (online) and see what you think!

I just returned Tomorrow's Magic to the library today. I also got Everlost, the book Claire did a review on. From my school library I am reading The Secret Life of Bees. I can't make the Friday meetings, but in summer I might be able to. It depends on if I do the District soccer team and club soccer too. I'll keep you updated!

First of all thanks to everyone who attended the meeting on Thursday May 10th.

After thinking about it some and talking to the Thursday meeting attendees I decided to go back to one meeting per month during the summer months. I can't make this Thursday because I have a doctor's appointment and then I have a band concert.

I should be able to make Thursdays from now on. I think, I'm not sure...

I don't have soccer on those days though.

Thursdays in the summer might be a challenge though.

I just found this article through a library newsletter I receive through my email and thought you might be interested. Basically, the author reports that email is over for people in their teens and 20's--their preference is text messaging. Is this true for you and your friends? What do you think?
